Subject: People's Assembly on Contemporary Challenges of Pakistan- September 23, 2022
To:

Dear Sir/ Madam,

Greetings from UGOOD!

As you are aware that Pakistan has been passing through the worst times of its history and facing challenges like climate change, flood disasters, rising inflation, energy crisis, shrinking civic spaces, gender discrimination, and many more. In order to reflect upon the extent and dynamics of contemporary challenges and suggest a way forward, AwazCDS-Pakistan, Pakistan Development Alliance, UGOOD, and Global Call to Action against Poverty (GCAP) are jointly organizing a day-long People’s Assembly on Friday, September 23, 2022, at Margalla Hotel Islamabad- 10 am till 1 pm.

The People’s Assembly will be attended by a good number of representatives from civil society, private sector organizations, media, social media, academia, students, legal and political fraternity. The People’s Assembly is part of the Global People’s Assembly and Global Week of Action, being celebrated by national and global civil society apropos to the United Nations General Assembly in September 2022, where Heads of States are meeting and setting the future course of action on how the world be made a better place to live. Being civil society, this is our role to contribute to the process and suggest pro-people agendas as well as people’s charter of demands to be considered there.

You, being an important opinion maker and leader of the civil society/ media / political party, are hereby requested to join the People’s Assembly  to share your thoughts and suggest a way forward for the consideration of our state and society.

Your kind participation and confirmation as a participant will be highly appreciated.

Looking forward to meeting you on Friday morning!

Best Regards,

Mehwish Arshad Kayani
