Dear All,

Greetings from Pakistan Centre for Philanthropy (PCP)

On behalf of Ms. Shazia Maqsood Amjad, Executive Director PCP, I would like to invite you to attend an online session/ webinar on the ”Role of PCP in Creating an Enabling Environment for NPOs in Pakistan”, jointly organized by PCP and Shirkat-Gah, to be held from 11:00 am to 01:00 pm on Thursday, the 4th of March 2021.

The session will be live-streamed on the official Facebook pages of PCP: https://www.facebook.com/pakistancentreforphilanthropy/

This session aims to shed light on the following key questions:

1.    Is the space shrinking for NPOs in Pakistan?
2.    What are the major legal and fundraising challenges for NPOs in Pakistan?
3.    What role can the PCP play in creating an enabling environment for CSOs to function?

·         What measures can NPOs take to better cope with the changing policies of the government?
·         What role can the PCP play to improve the trust deficit of public and government on NPO sector?
·         How can PCP’s extensive experience in assessing the internal systems of NPOs and its vast database of information be used to create an enabling environment while maintaining rigour in NPOs internal systems?

4.    What are the areas of research that can be undertaken by PCP to create evidence for more effective policies? E.g. assess the contribution of NPOs work in Pakistan, the cost of compliance with multiple regulatory frameworks vs. assisting people on the ground?
5.    How can the process to obtain PCP certification be made for accessible for smaller and medium level NPOs?
6.    What mechanism can be proposed to inform civil society regarding available indigenous funding sources?

For details, please refer to the attached flyer and agenda of the session.

Kind regards,

Arsalan Kashfi
