Hi All

As Nige fortold I am organising a walk at Craster on New Years Day -
to be out there in the fresh air enjoying good company seems to me to
be a great way to start a new year.

We will be meeting in the main car park, next to the Bark Potts cafe
at 11:30am (Grid ref: 256198). The walk takes us from the old
Whinstone Quarry car park of Craster up to Craster South Farm, then
along to Dunstan. From here we cross the fields to Dunstan Steads and
down to the links, along the side of the golf course to Dunstanburgh
Castle (dating back to 1313), then back along the coastal path to
Craster.

It's about 6 miles and I estimate will take between 2 to 3 hours, so
bringing drinks and snacks to keep you going may be a good idea. If
the pub is open we may stop there on our return!

Afterwhich you are all invited back to my house for warming homemade
soup and other scrummy nibbles to finish the day.

If you can't make the walk you are very welcome to join us for the
soup etc in the late afternnoon. Ring my mobile nos 07814796856 for
directions.

I have checked weather forecast - cloudy with possible showers, so
remember strong shoes, waterproofs etc.

Happy New Year to you all and looking forward to seeing those that
join the walk!

Verity
