Hello everyone,

Devon Boorman is coming to Boston to teach his level 1 Instructor Intensive!

This is a 6-day, 50-hour immersive program for practitioners of all levels. Throughout the week you will learn the foundation of the Academie Duello approach to Italian Longsword and/or Rapier with a high level of technical detail.

This course combines learning Duello's martial system with a proven curriculum, teaching methodology, and effective instructional skills. The program is accessible to both experienced practitioners from within the HEMA community seeking to refine their own approach to their practice and teaching, and to new practitioners who want to both learn and teach these arts in a manner that is safe, effective and fun.

In case you didn't see the event on Facebook, we have a BONUS WORKSHOP with Devon Boorman on Sunday, June 9! Devon is sticking around an extra day after his week-long instructor intensive to teach a workshop in Longsword and Rapier:

Longsword Tactics - Learn a straightforward tactical model that can be applied to any longsword approach. Starting from the foundation of the "True Fight" students will learn how to analyze a given position and then choose the correct attacks and provocations to force the opponent into predictable actions that can be countered. Students will explore how to select attacks that create threat while providing safety (ie avoid double hits), how to create effective feints, use of invitation to lure the opponent, and strategic constraint of the center.  

Rapier with Off-Hand Weapons - Learn the techniques and tactics of using a rapier with a companion weapon in the off-hand. The class will primarily focus on rapier and dagger, but will also cover the application of the same principles to the cloak or other items depending on interest. Prior rapier experience is recommended.
