Announcing Spring 2009 Ecomunicipality
Leadership Training
Torbjörn Lahti and
I are pleased to announce the third annual Spring training in ecomunicipality
leadership at Tufts University May 29-June 2, 2009. This is an exciting
course that empowers participants to lead comprehensive, systematic sustainability
change processes in their communities and regions. Responding to the current
economic situation, we are offering this year a shorter, more condensed,
and reduced-cost training program. The attached notice contains more details
about the training, contact and registration information.
Sponsors of the training
will be the Tufts University Urban & Environmental Policy & Planning
Department, the forthcoming Tufts Sustainability Planning Institute, and
others to be announced.
We would greatly
appreciate it if you would forward this email and flier to your network
and to anyone you think might be interested.
Here’s what previous
participants have said about the ecomunicipality leadership training:
“Experts Sarah James and Torbjorn Lahti
provide a training experience which is not just a tremendous dose of hope,
but delivers a high quality sustainable development tool kit mixed with
an outstanding assembly of fellow community builders.”
Steve Weinberg, co-founder Sustainable
Mt. Airy, Philadelphia, PA
Other participants said:
“The encouragement that
is derived from working in a cooperative group is an immeasurable gift.
I am certain that I have expanded the horizons of my possible audiences
and have grown in my confidence to offer a worthwhile experience.” “This coming together…and
learning in a nurturing atmosphere made it possible for me to learn new
stratagems to work toward social change.” “Provides a more in-depth
understanding of the [Natural Step] system conditions, human needs model,
and how they relate. As well as very practical instruction and exercises
in how to apply the model in the eco-municipality process.” See the attached
notice for more information. We hope you’ll be interested!
