It can be slowed
The recent publication of "Irreversible climate change due to carbon dioxide emissions" by Susan Solomon et al, in PNAS

Has created a bit of a media stir.
Actually it is not "news", at least for those who follow such matters. It is, in my opinion just that science/modeling studies of post 2100 C.E. scenarios are often not picked up by the media.
As pointed out by the folks at Realclimate.org, "Irreversible" does not mean that it cannot be "slowed".
