To Nihongo Club:
As some of you may have noticed, Nihongo club has been late in getting things started this semester.
Let me first apologize for the club's inactivity. Many officers have moved on to postgraduate careers that in most cases have taken them far from campus. Unfortunately, I myself have to balance grad school with work, so this semester will be practically impossible for me to function as club president.
Because there are many Japanese-language students at NC State who in many cases want to be involved in cultural events on campus, I would like to invite club members to consider our counterpart, the Japan Club. Though its activities have more to do with the cultural aspects of Japan than the language, its presentations do well to inform you of contemporary Japanese life, so that you can learn what it is like to study or work in Japan.
I want to apologize for the inconvenience caused by our group's inactivity, as I understand the need for Japanese learners to find venues to practice. Actually, there is an alternate language setting at the Japan Center called Daruma Club, which meets monthly and where students can meet Japanese people and exchange in English as well as Japanese. I'm sure there will be more time later this semester or next for sorting out Nihongo Club's administration issues.
Sincerely,
Corey
