Dear PhD students,

(If you will be supported by an RA, fellowship, or other non-TA funding source in Fall 2025, you may ignore this message.)

It’s time to begin planning TA assignments for the Fall 2025 semester. If you expect or wish to have a teaching assistantship next semester, please apply for a TA position and indicate your course preferences via GradWatch,  even if you have previously told me or are a new student.

To apply:

  1. Log in to GradWatch using your Unity ID:
    http://www.wolftech.ncsu.edu/gradwatch/students/login.php
  2. Click the TA Information tab.
  3. Select at least five courses you feel confident TAing — the more flexible you are, the better.
  4. Use the Additional Information box to describe your qualifications or circumstances.
  5. Click the Apply for TA Position button. Important: This is the only way to ensure your application is considered.

You must provide this information by July 7, 2025.

Your submission is your formal TA request and will help guide our TA allocations.

Please note: We want to support all PhD students who maintain satisfactory academic progress and make every effort (with their advisor) to find external support. However, TA resources are limited, and we may be unable to fund every request. If you secure an RA or other non-TA funding before the semester begins, please withdraw your TA application in GradWatch immediately so we can plan accordingly.

Thank you for your cooperation!

Best regards,
Steffen
