Tiffany,
- hope all is well!!
Assuming you will be (are) at AIED and EDM, please share this with potential postdocs you meet, and of course, if you know of students and postdocs looking for a job this year, please share this with them. We are forming a team for a project that is launching in August.

We seek Postdoctoral Research Associates to join the ASU Learning Engineering Institute (LEI)—a collaborative, interdisciplinary team dedicated to improving learning through evidence-based design, implementation, and evaluation. Postdoctoral research associates will contribute to large-scale research studies focused on the use of AI tools in higher education. Postdoctoral research associates will work with faculty, staff, students, and researchers across the university to develop AI tools and evaluate the use of AI tools in higher education. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of AI in education while contributing to research that directly informs institutional practice and policy.

If you are interested, please contact Danielle McNamara (dsmc...@asu.edu). This position is not virtual or hybrid - it requires being on site at Arizona State University.

  • Collaborate with faculty, instructional designers, and campus units to implement research and design protocols.

  • Conduct data analysis using R, Python, or related tools (e.g., statistical modeling, causal inference, learning analytics).

  • Contribute to grant writing, academic publications, and dissemination of findings to institutional leaders.

  • Work as part of a highly collaborative team applying learning engineering principles to educational improvement.

Required Qualifications

  • PhD in Learning Sciences, Educational Psychology, Psychology, Cognitive Science, Data Science, AI in Education, or related field.

  • Strong experience with quantitative or mixed-methods research design and analysis.

  • Familiarity with higher education teaching and learning contexts.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with faculty and campus stakeholders.

  • Experience evaluating AI or educational technologies in real-world settings.
Experience using AI (Generative AI; LLMs, machine learning), or building AI-Powered tools.

  • Familiarity with learning engineering, learning analytics, or behavioral research methods.
Prior involvement in multi-stakeholder projects or interdisciplinary teams.

  • Track record of peer-reviewed publications or institutional research reports.
