Road bikes
Raleigh Competition GS (1978) black, faded but not damaged or dinged.
All original except tires, chain and freewheel cluster (now wearing a
Suntour narrow 6) – Campy headset, hubs, cranks, derailleurs, pedals;
Weinmann concave rims, calipers and levers. Cloth bar tape looks
original. Brooks Pro saddle, not currently mounted.
Raleigh Super Course Mk II ca. 1976 with frozen Burgess stem. Green
and white. The Reynolds and Carlton stickers are visible but beat up.
Much modified, including wheels (27” Schrader), saddle, front
derailleur, side pull brakes and shift levers. Original stuff
includes Raleigh-marked SR crankset, Raleigh-marked Suntour VGt rear
derailleur, Weinmann levers with nice Carlton hoods, and sweet
Burgess randonneur bars. The original centerpull brakes are here
somewhere…
Raleigh Royale ca. 1970 with a separated brake bridge (needs to be
rebrazed). Simplex derailleurs. Steel rims. Missing its original
saddle and Simplex gear levers. Cottered cranks. Burgess bars, levers
and centerpull brakes. Lamp boss on front fork.
Road bits
Headset, stem and bars from Peugeot
Numerous Japanese bars, stems, cranksets, small components
Several good 27” wheels, F/R, various OLD and rim widths
Araya 27” rim on Suzue front hub branded Raleigh, made in Japan,
Schrader valve
Araya Red Label 27x1 Presta rim on Suzue front hub, 96mm spacing,
nice wheel
Unmarked 27x1 ¼ front hub on Joytech hub. 93mm spacing
Rigida Blue Label AL320 27z1 Made in France rim on Sunshine freewheel
(6 speed?) hub 5345Z from an 80s Trek, Presta, no skewer – this one
has been dinged enough to notice when braking, but it’s round and
fairly true
Van Schothorst 27” steel rim made in Holland ’91 on Soyos (?) Taiwan
’91 freewheel hub, looks ok for a pothole commuter, Schrader, 130 mm
spacing
FL219 26x1.5 rim on Shimano Altus freehub with 7 speed cassette,
Schrader valve
Schwinn stuff
prewar straight bar frame, no fork, inch pitch crank
