Hey all,
It’s been a long winter, but spring is nigh.
We’re planning to start the Saturday 7:30am road rides again soon.
Tomorrow’s looking a little wet, but if it’s tolerable, I think a couple of us are planning to ride at 7am starting at the shop.
As always, the speed and distance of the ride is determined by those who show up.
Since Jay’s moved on, I’ve been relegated to the role of “resident roadie” so most Saturdays I’ll be here with skinny tires. I need to be presentable by 9:45, so the rides are typically 25-35 miles. If the group is down for a longer ride, I’m happy to bail early, too.
Ari and Russ are still training for the Trans-Iowa, so they’re going to be doing their “blend” rides (road/gravel) on Saturday mornings if you’re interested in joining them. Reader Beware: while most of us are getting ready for the season, Ari and Russ have been training hard all winter – not that they are rocket fast, but they’re ruthless at this point – their rides mostly consist of gravel, B-roads, soggy trails, and lots of grunting. If all of that sounds fun to you, we also have on our calendar a local gravel event we’re putting on with Half Acre Cycling in late May – 50+ gravel miles.
The weekday rides will pick up as heat and light increase. We’re thinking Tues and Thursday nights this year.
Let us know if there’s anything else you need to know. Hope to see you soon.
Tobie
PS: let me know if you’re interested in riding tomorrow morning.

I'm in - see you at 7:00 AM.
