Greetings. I hope this email finds you well!
We are pleased to inform you that TIP, GFoD, the University of London, and other partners are organizing a special invited lecture followed by a roundtable discussion on 'Carving out a Norm at the UN': On the Rights of Communities Discriminated on Work and Descent' on June 11, 2024, at 5.30 pm IST virtually. Please find the concept note attached for your review.
Details of the meeting are given below:
Date: Tomorrow ( 11th June )
Time: 5.30 PM IST
The event will consist of two sessions moderated by Mr. Paul Divakar, Convenor, GFoD.
Session 1 will feature a 30-minute presentation by Dr. Corinne Lennox, Senior Lecturer in Human Rights at the Institute of Commonwealth Studies, School of Advanced Study, University of London. Dr. Lennox will share insights from her book, "Transnational Social Mobilisation and Minority Rights: Identity, Advocacy, and Norms" (Routledge 2020).
Session 2 will be a roundtable discussion aimed at forging new pathways to ensure justice for CDWD on the international stage. This discussion will focus on the 'long-view' of social mobilization and decades of international advocacy efforts by CDWD. Our goal is to solidify the platform for strategizing towards securing formal recognition of CDWD through a UN Declaration, affirming their identity, rights, and dignity.
It gives us great pleasure to invite you to the event. We want you to know that your participation will add value to the event and our efforts in addressing the CDWD concerns.
We look forward to your participation in the event.
