Crooked River Scenic Bikeway bike ride

Hello:

I am planning a bike ride on the Crooked  River Scenic Bikeway outside of Prineville on Monday, April 27.

When: Monday, April 27. Meet at 9:30 AM with the ride to begin at 10 AM.

Where: We will meet at  Crooked  River Park in Prineville (1377 S Main St) https://www.ccprd.org/crooked-river-park

Distance: The route follows the Crooked River Canyon from Prineville for about 18 miles down to the dam on the Prineville Reservoir passing 8 BLM campgrounds. Since it is an out and back ride, we can turn around whenever we want to. I’m planning approximately a 30 mile ride from the park to Chimney Rock campground, and back (15 miles each way). I have not done this ride or explored this area and therefore, this will be an adventure. 

Equipment: The bike ride is on a highway so bring an appropriate bike. I have a hybrid E bike.

Food: Please bring your own food and water. Water is available at Crooked River park at the start and at Chimney Rock campground. This is the only campground with water.

I am planning to camp at the Ochoco Lake County Park before and after the bike ride. Others are welcome to join us in the campground.

Thank you for the invitation, Michelle.

I broke my thumb skiing, so I won't be able to bike for a while.  I hope to join you on a ride in the future.  Just wondering, though, if your rides will be for ebikes rather than pedal bikes.

This sounds like so much fun.  It is just too short of notice for me to get it together. I have brunch I am hosting this Sat and also dealing with DIane's medical procedure on Friday (tomorrow) so no time to prep.I hope you do something similar again with a little more notice next time!
