HI!  I joined your club recently, not sure how to get in touch with ski bums.  I missed a few of your Nov meetings, and it was too snowy to make it to the pray for snow party. Yay!!
I like mid-week skiing, if you can point me to that group so I can get all the scoop, I would be so grateful.

Hi Toni,

You are in the right place. Our mid-week forum is precisely for people who like to ski mid-week, and especially for those who like to ski at Mt. Hood Meadows.

We also have a permanent announcement about mid-week skiing, posted on our website, on the TRIPS page.  Hey, a day trip is also a "trip".  See it at: http://www.mthigh.org/Trips.htm#Mid-week_day-trips .

Just one word of caution.  This particular group, and some of them are shown with pictures of their faces, is an advanced group that likes to ski ungroomed powder, trees, and steeps. Depending on your skill level, it might be a bit hard to keep up with them.  Still, join them for at least a run or two and see for yourself how you like it.

We also have a small group of devoted skiers who ski at Timberline and occasionally at Skibowl too.  They are a bit more moderate.  OrR maybe it's just that Timberline's terrain tends to be more moderate.

Don't be discouraged if nobody replies to you this time.  Maybe people have other plans around Thanksgiving.  Keep on posting from time to time.  Also watch for what other people are posting and feel free to reply to them and make arrangements to meet up on the slopes.

In addition to our two Forums, people also use our club's Facebook page to makes similar announcements about when and where to ski. So, check that out too.  The easiest way to get to our Facebook page is to go to our website first: www.mthigh.org, and then click on the Facebook button in the main menu.  And make sure to join the Facebook page, so that you'll be informed by email when someone posts something.

I would join you on the slopes myself, but I've had knee surgery recently, and I am still healing from that.  I hope to get back on skis by the end of January.

There is a group skiing Monday at Meadows. We meet in the old lodge (main floor) at tables. We're a group of mostly old guys who love to ski. Walt

Toni, welcome! I'm an occasional/frequent mid-week skier at Meadows. The mid week group meets at the Schuss burger stand in the south lodge at around 8 a.m., especially on powder days. If you see someone there just ask if they are Mountain High skiers. We are a very welcoming group.

You found the mid-week group> Just post that you’ll be heading to the mountain and there will likely be responses. Last-minute posts aren’t quite as successful as those with a bit of lead time. I will generally be doing mid-weeks at Timberline after mid-December.

OK, Walt, it's MOSTLY old guys - but an occasional old woman as well!

Toni, Emilio is right that the particular group is pretty fast - how do you like to ski, and have you learned your way around Mt. Hood Meadows yet?

(Sorry if this posts twice.)

Hi Joe,

I know some folks who carpool and some, like myself, usually drive. There is also a shuttle bus that runs between Sandy and Timberline with numerous stops in-between (not free) and another shuttle run by Timberline, itself, that runs between the Summit Ski Area in Government Camp and Timberline proper. This shuttle is free for Timberline pass and daily ticket holders. Info about both shuttles is on Timberlines website.

There is a shuttle bus that runs from the Portland area (several stops) and Meadows. Check out Meadows’ website for info.

Meadows and Timberline both have 6 level 2 EV chargers available on a first come/first serve basis. If you have the “Flo network” app they are really easy to access. Check all of the fine print, though. You don’t want to go past the time limit, especially at Meadows. SkiBowl evidently has a couple of level 3 chargers but I don’t know what system they’re on.

Happy skiing!

Jeff
