ABOUT SECO WORKSPACE:

It offers a wide range of services including; marine engineering, civil & mechanical engineering, container conversions, specialized heavy lifts, and oil & gas, pipeline inspection services as well as shipbuilding and ship repair services in East Africa.

SECO recently launched SUMMIT, a new commercial division which deals with camps and catering services. Summit erects, builds and manages all camp services for the group. They provide containerized camps built from shipping containers, prefab units, tented and permanent camps.  Summit is a full service camps & catering, manufacturing, and logistics company providing a full array of services to the oil and gas, energy, mining & exploration and construction industries. 

The Interior Designer will be tasked with establishing and maintaining the interior design process for SECO container conversions division and Summit. The ideal candidate will be able to work with a team and bring a high level of creative and technical competency to the department. He/she will also be able to articulate the brand concepts to external design resources.

Essential Functions:

* Create interior design concepts that include programming, conceptual design, schematic design, design development, space planning.

* Work with external design resources to bring brand vision to fruition, managing through design process from the brands perspective.

* Work collaboratively with the team to create product briefs and co-ordinate finish selections

* Work to create visual assets to communicate concepts to internal and external partners

* Work with development partners on deliverables for projects as they arise.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

* Ability to inspire and create stories that result in interiors that are rich and relevant

* Highly collaborative

* Highly articulate, able to present to senior member of the organization

* In depth knowledge of hospitality interior design

* Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or related field from an accredited school

* 4+ years of interior design experience, possibility of looking into 3+ years 

* Proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3D and other modeling software programs

* Knowledge of contract furniture, finishes, materials, color selections, and specifications

* Graphics and visualization skills to effectively communicate design ideas
