The Moving Mountains Web site (sportdevelopmentpeace.org) has been moving along, and I am about to issue a call for articles. Before doing so, I'd like any feedback on the Web site in general, specific content issues, and the entire project.

Regarding the Web site, I do realize that it does not look particularly professional. At some point, we should think about getting a professional designer, but for now the structure is still in flux -- and each minor change in concept would entail costly revisions if we had a pro. For now, I think it's more important to get some interesting content.

As a newbie in the field of sports, I am playing catch-up both with the UN theme and with the sport/recreation/phys-ed field. Some of you may find my [draft] Commentary objectionable... but I don't think we have a lot to gain by papering over the conceptual inconveniences. Please take a look at that piece, and at the follow-up note on the Update page... which entails a suggestion as to one role we could play.  I'm also interested to hear what you have to say about the Left Field stuff.

Quite a few of you have served on the "Steering Committee," and I thank you for your advice and work thus far. We now need actual editors. I've initiated about two-thirds of the departments with article stubs and placeholders... all of which can be reworked or replaced.  I am hoping you will take a look at the various departments and find one (or more) you'd like to manage. This won't necessarily entail a lot of work -- the most important thing would be to recruit experts, activists, participants, and journalists to contribute articles. I can do the online layout -- unless you particularly want to.

So, please send me a note (to sicr...@gmail.com, not to this google group) with the name(s) of departments you'd like to work on, together with some specification as to whether you want to manage alone or would consent to (or prefer to) work with a co-editor. If you have comments about MM that are of general interest, you could send those separately in an open email to mountai...@googlegroups.com.
