--Deborah, you really ought to take your blinders off and look around once in a while. It might keep you from writing silly things like We are in the world condition that exists now under capitalism. Not socialism.
It was capitalism as practiced by the Rockefellers and the Carnegies and the Vanderbilts that gave us the greatest standard of living this world has ever seen for everyone with enough gumption to get out and take advantage of it. That standard of living is the reason so many people sneak across the southern border and the lack of it is the reason they’re going back home. It was banks and their socialist friends named McCain, Bush and Obama that have attacked that standard and very nearly taken it out of the grasp of about 1/6 of the people who live in this country. Obama’s answer has always been and will always be more food stamps; it will never be more jobs.

I have read 2 books on the population decline in Europe and the subsequent Muslim immigration. Despite all the studies, no one has ever bothered asking the Europeans themselves why they’ve stopped having children but I suspect the answer is, “Why bother? I can’t give them a better life than I’ve had,” which is both profound and sad. Such a thing could happen right here in these very U.S. of A. if we follow the European example a certain socialist among us advocates. L
