I heard about some homes being targeted for robberies in Montevideo... Is this true

I met a colleague who told me just now that she learnt about this at a party. A few homes in the Montevideo neighborhood near the community pool were checked out by teenage girls on some pretext or another.

 

In one case, the teenage girl got access into a bathroom of a home and had spent time to just release the lock a little bit to access the home later. Luckily, the owner got suspicious and checked all the doors and locks after the girl left.

 

Is this true? How come no newsletter talking about it - if it is true?
