We received more pictures today including ones from the disposable
camera we sent over in her care package. Her foster parents looked
older. So, my take on the situation is that they cared and loved for
her but did not really play or work with her as much as just watch
over her. No worries, she'll catch up, it'll just be a matter of
time.
As far as personality, she has demonstrated a truly gentle spirit
(we'll have to see if it lasts after she gets to know us and then
again once she gets home to the rowdies). She's been pretty quiet but
flashing a smile, one of the attached pictures, and willing to laugh,
mostly AT me. Right now is a good example, she is sleeping and I
layed her down on her back in the crib and she has yet to move. She's
already fallen asleep in my arms twice, once at dinner with all the
other dads watching and jealous because a few of the girls have been
slow to warm up to the men (Molly also prefers Rene' but Rene' had run
back up to the room when this happened) and again after we returned to
the room as I was putting her down for the night. No crying either
time. Neither did she cry when they gave her to us. Very sweet girl.
I'm going to sign off here for tonight so I can upload some of our
video from today. Drop us a note if you get a chance. Everyone enjoy
your day off.
In His Hands,
Joe
