Which planner would be good for project-oriented work?

I'm considering moving to using a Moleskine planner, probably the large
weekly planner. My question is: where do people put their project
lists? It doesn't look like in the description there are a set of just
plain pages to hold such information.

Right now I've been using a set of index cards and my Palm to keep life
on schedule; the index cards don't lend themselves much to long project
lists and I'm pretty much just using the Palm for contacts/calendar.
I'm a full-time writer of suspense novels, so my schedule tends to be
as such:
--few business appointments, except when out promoting a book
--large projects (writing a book, writing a film treatment, etc.) with
many to-dos
--I like to see my week at a glance and assign tasks to be done a
certain day (for instance, write Chapter 3 before writing Chapter 4)

But I also like to make lists of all upcoming actions in a project--if
I don't do this, I find the projects start to fall apart as I forgot
things that must be done.

I'm guessing the solution is to keep project lists in the back pocket,
but thought I would ask if there was another option people found
useful. I already enjoy using Moleskines for notetaking and
brainstorming on my books.

Thanks,

I personally use 3x5 project cards from diyplanner.com I house them in
a 3x5 folder from levenger.com.

The folder has 18 3x5 pockets and can display to top half of each card
without the removal of the card.

My top 18 projects are displayed this way. Additional projects are kept
behind the 18 and raised slightly so that I can see the title of the
project. I also use the pocket briefcase as a satellite

I keep my planner / agenda separate from my Moleskine notebook. I use
a wirebound Daytimer and use it for appointments/meetings/etc. I also
store my business cards and other small things in there.

I use a large grid Moleskine for my project notebook. I date each page
and can co-relate the Daytimer and the Moleskine that way. In both the
Moleskine and DayTimer, I keep several 75 x 125 mm (roughly 3 x 5)
grided "bristol fiches" cards.

I usually use those when I don't want to cary by Moleskine (such as to
a business lunch) or to make task cards of things that I need to get
done that day.

The bristol fiches are great - high quality stock and fine grids.

My "dream" Moleskine would have a weekly calendar on the upper half of
the left page, and the rest of the that page and the facing page would
be grided for notes, drawings, etc.

I'm wondering if anyone can tell me how large the pocket in the back of
the weekly planner is?--if it's big enough
to hold several index cards. I've heard it's not as large as the back
pocket in the "regular" notebooks.

hi,
the pocket in the new weekly planners is pretty tight, but if you just want to hold a few index cards, it shouldn't be a problem. BUT, it doesn't expand as much, so it's a bit of a pain to take things in and out of the pocket...
hope this helps.

I've ordered the large weekly planner (softcover). My local bookstore
(BookPeople in Austin, TX) that carries a huge amount of Moleskines
(they have tons of the 2007 hardcover planners) was already out of the
softcover, as was moleskineus.com. I ordered from another web vendor
that still had it in stock.

The envelope doesn't impress me. I simply place index cards, receipts,
whetever, for the day, between the cover and the pages. The books
elsatic band holds them in. Of course, at the end of the day, there is
no reason to not remove all of those superfluous papers. I certainly
don't want to carry them around tomorrow.
