[Modesto Tango]

Kenny and Verna conducted a lesson on “molinetes” starting both from a forward ocho and a back ocho.  Recap of the lesson in this video of the week, Next Saturday Kenny and Verna are conducting a tango bootcamp, followed that evening by our first milonga since the pandemic .  This will all take place at Urbano Grill on 1016 H Street - behind the Gallo center. The material will be aimed at newbies and people returning to tango after a long hiatus.  After  the lessons and before and during the milonga the kitchen and bar will be open for no-host meals and drinks. Kenny Bell will be our DJ for the milonga and he and Verna will grace us with a tango performance midway through the milonga. This is a great occasion to socialize, grab a meal or just a glass of wine, and dance some tango, working on material covered in class.  A great occasion to just come and get acquainted with us. We  gather around 6:00 for a meal and start dancing after 6:30 pm. We hope to dance till a little after 8:30 pm.   SATURDAY: May 17, 2025,  at 12 pm. Tango boot camp  with Kenny Bell and Verna Tennyson at  Urbano Grill, on 1016 H Street, downtown  $60 - Come just for the milonga at 6pm $10.     MILONGA

MILONGAS OUT OF TOWN: Friday: Sacramento: Every Friday at Tango on Broadway,  Mission Oaks Community Center - 4701 Gibbons Dr, Carmichael, CA 95608.  6 - 10pm, $10.  BYOB and anything you may want to add to the pot luck supper. Saturday:  Sacramento: At Tango By the River, 128 J Street, Old Sacramento, 2nd & 4th Saturday, 7 pm, $10. The dancing starts at 8:00 pm with traditional tango music until 11:00 pm, when the switch is to Nuevo tango and alternative music.  Light refreshments are provided, and you are welcome to bring your favorite beverage.  Cost is $10    At Firehouse 5: 2014 9th Street.  The 1st and 3rd Saturday milongas. In addition, lots of requests for more advanced classes, so the pre-milonga class  is int/adv. Sunday:   Sacramento: At Tango by the River, 128 J Street, Old Sacramento:   Count Glover  hosting a Twilight Milonga every third Sunday of the month at Tango by the River! with DJ Count playing traditional tango music from 6:00 to 10:00 pm for your dancing pleasure!
