About Pipe Zarzar and Anna Radzikowska
Felipe “Pipe” Zarzar — Informal Bio Pipe Zarzar has been dancing tango in Chile since he was 12 years old. His very first teacher—and partner—was his mother, Caprice Reyes Bush, a well known tango instructor back home. Later on, he trained with Argentinian maestros Luis Adema (El Pampa) and Gustavo Chidichimo, who helped shape his technique and style.
In 2005, Pipe placed 6th at the World Championships in Buenos Aires, and he and his mother twice became national champions of Chile. Since then, he’s performed and taught all over the world, from France and Italy to Sweden, Germany, Brazil, and beyond. His deep understanding of tango’s musicality and technique makes him a truly well rounded teacher and artist.
Pipe is a strong believer in close embrace tango and proudly stands by traditional tango values—he’s a purist in the best sense. Outside the dance world, he also holds a degree in Economy and International Business. Anna Radzikowska — Informal Bio Anna Radzikowska grew up in Gdynia, Poland, where she trained in classical ballet from a young age under Russian teachers specializing in the Vaganova method. She later earned a dance scholarship to Wesleyan University in Connecticut, studying modern dance with artists from the Martha Graham Dance Theater. Back in Poland, she also explored acting and singing on the stage of the Musical Theater in Gdynia.
Her career took off when avant garde choreographer Wojciech Misiuro invited her to join Teatr Ekspresji as a principal dancer on a five year contract. With the company, she performed on major stages across Poland and Europe, including the Juliusz Słowacki Theatre in Krakow and the Théâtre Municipal de Lausanne. She also toured with the Wroclaw Opera, dancing as a soloist in Johann Strauss II’s Der Zigeunerbaron.
After moving to California about twenty years ago, Anna discovered Argentine Tango and dove into intensive study with top maestros in Buenos Aires. She went on to become a top three finalist in the stage, salon, and milonga categories at the US Tango Championship.
Anna blends her ballet, modern, and tango backgrounds into a unique approach focused on connection, embrace, and authentic movement. These days, she’s especially passionate about the milonguero style and loves helping dancers understand their bodies and develop their own voice in the dance. She also holds an MA in Political Science and Diplomacy. One of her favorite sayings is: “It takes an athlete to dance, but an artist to be a dancer.” |
