In the 1926 K R Wilson Tools catalog on page 44 they advertise a coil
tester hand cranked for 39 dollars that they recomend cranking at 160
rpm to test while working with other hand Onm page 45 the identical
tester is listed with a G E elect 1/4 hp motor for 50 bucks and i see 11
bucks diff for it and if you had 11 bucks then you were well off so
maybe why so many hand crankers are around The mechs.. then didn't earn
anyware that much a week Just the remembering of a old codger that
was around Lowell Spicer Spicer's T Works
P S I have a W- 40 motorized one that i still use

I collect, repair and restore hand cranked coil testers and have many
awaiting restoration. See attached photos.
I have had several incomplete KRW Model W-49 motorized units in my
possession, but never a complete unmolested unit. If you ever run across a
nice original Model W-49 that is for sale I certainly would be interested in
buying it or possibly a trade?
