Pumpkin Roundup

Some of you saw me chattering about this on Twitter earlier, but here is your official invitation.

 

On October 9, I'm hosting a pumpkin roundup. This ain't your momma's pumpkin pie. Instead, I'd like to feature a meal's worth of pumpkin recipes in the following categories:

• Appetizers
• Soup
• Salad
• Main course
• Side dishes
• Bread -- savory and sweet
• Dessert

You are welcome to make your dish anytime between now and October 9, and we'll all put up our posts on that day. (Any of you who don't have blogs, you can send me a write up via e-mail, and I'll feature it as a guest post on my blog.) Then I'll do a roundup with links to everyone's posts sometime the following week.

 

If you're interested, pick a menu category from above and e-mail me your choice. You don't have to know what recipe you're going to use yet (although if you have one in mind, you can let me know that, too). (I'm thinking of a vegetable soup served in a baked pumpkin tureen, but I'll wait to see what everyone else picks before deciding for sure.)

 

Kayte (pumpkin hater that she is) has graciously agreed to contribute a jack o' lantern to our effort, so the decorations are covered.

I think depending on the recipe that canned is fine.

Okay, I surrender...I will make something pumpkin for the roundup and post it (very funny about the carved Jack offer, I was kidding around).  I will make Pumpkin Bites Sandwich Cookies with Cinnamon Cream Cheese Filling for the roundup.

I can't believe I am doing this...talk about outside my comfort zone...lol!
