Modern Bakers,

As you know, we are currently in the Puff Pastry section, which is scheduled to go until the end of November.

Rather than moving on to the Cakes section right away, I thought we might take a bit of a break and use the month of December to catch up on recipes we missed, revisit recipes we really liked, or just take the holidays off. If you're really on top of things, you could even get ahead!

So, relax and enjoy the holidays. We'll start Cakes in January. I'll post the sign up sometime in November, so watch for that.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.  I love the idea of starting the cakes in January and using December to catch up or bake ahead as there is a lot going on here in December and I am sure you are all finding the same deal at your homes.

I hope to get into the puff pastry section soon and make good progress once I start.  Part of the problem is that I still have two recipes from the last section that I wish to do and I don't want to move forward until I do them, so hopefully that will happen this weekend.  I am really enjoying what I have seen so far from the rest of you already into the section...it all looks great.

Thanks, Phyl, for keeping track of it all and encouraging us to all move forward when times are busy.  I am so loving this whole book.

Sounds great. December is a busy time for everyone, and with all the
Christmas baking - it will nice to have a breather.

Also, thank you for your suggestion about mentioning the release of
the paperback version of Modern Baker on our blogs. I'm embarrassed to
say that it never actually occurred to me - huge oversight on my part.
I'm happy to mention it - I was so excited to receive the book in the
mail. And even more excited to see that he wrote a personal message
inside. Very thoughtful and generous of him.

H.
