Due to the holidays folks have requested the Rec and Park meeting scheduled for tonight be postponed to January 12th at Mission Playground at 6pm.

I have attached an update from the LDC and when I hear of the time for it to be aired I will send an update!!

Subject: Mission Playground Update

The Youth of Mission Playground were interviewed last night by PBS/NPR for a national broadcast as one of the Greatest Latino Efforts of 2014.

So far they achieved:

1. Extended Lighted Fields
   
2. Free Play at Night
   
3. Bilingual Signage (in red)
   
4. But they are not done.
   

They still

1. Want a Process to ensure this does not happen again at Mission Playground
   
2. Want their safety concerns met
   
3. Want to extend their efforts to other playgrounds
   
4. Want their issues to be heard on the Parks and Recreation Commission Agenda
   
5. Want a follow-up meeting with Park and Recreation Management where there are more youth than Park staff.
   
6. They will be engaging leaders and will be heard at the Youth Commission.
