I'm pleased to announce the launch of the Sidosi Community at
http://sidosi.danielparson.com/community ! With the power of a full-
fledged forum system, I hope we have to search for the limits of what
we can post there. I don't think it would be worthwhile to try to list
all the features here, so just visit the forums and discover the
possibilities. The Forum FAQ (http://sidosi.danielparson.com/community/
faq.php ) may be a handy guide to the many features, so read it if you
feel lost. I successfully copied all the posts from here to the
forums, so it should at least get the community started.

Also big news is of course the translator, now available at
http://sidosi.danielparson.com/translator ! The translator is, like I
said in the roadmap, very rough at this point, but it does work.
Again, most things are best described by use, so go check it out! If
you find any bugs, please report them in the Support forum, and I'll
fix them as soon as possible.

Thank you for all the support, and I look forward to helping the
Solresol community grow even more!

This discussion will serve as the home for my occasional cross-posts
of news from Sidosi.

Yayyyy!!
Good job Dan! :D And Happy Solresol Day!
Comments/questions:
I think there should be a category devoted to the development of Solresol, to discuss neologisms, changing vocabulary, etc. Unless those are supposed to go under Solresol Discussion in Solresol in General?
Also, a category for asking questions about Solresol could be good too, but again, maybe just in the general place.
Also, will every post always need to be approved by an administrator? I could see that slowing up discussion quite a bit, especially since you're the only administrator right now :)
That's all. :)
I love the appearance of it! You should make the rest of your site look like that :P

I originally had the top section all for development, then changed it
to Translations because of your earlier comment (http://
groups.google.com/group/Misolrela/msg/7339887a0a5665ca ). I see now
that there is a fine line between the two that warrants having
separate forums, so I made one.

I think general questions about Solresol go in the "Solresol in
General" section, so I made the description a bit clearer. I admit the
descriptions aren't very intuitive right now, but I can work on that.

I thought I had turned that post approval off, but that's a feature
where your first x (3 by default) posts have to be approved by an
admin or moderator. I think it's turned off now, but I may turn it
back on when the community grows and we start having troublemakers.

Yeah, I'll work on making the rest of the site look like the forums.
It took a while to figure out what to have as a background (since the
original was unrelated), but I finally decided to make a background of
the stenographs.

Cool.

So, I have a question. When it says "You agree not to post any abusive, obscene, vulgar, slanderous, hateful, threatening, sexually-orientated or any other material that may violate any laws be it of your country, the country where “Sidosi” is hosted or International Law." - what do you mean by vulgar? as in no swearing? Not that I swear a lot, but I think every once in a while should be okay. I'm okay with the rest.

Oh, honestly that's just the default ToS that came with the
software. :P Just follow the Community Guidelines topic and I won't
complain. Personally, I'm fine with swearing, as long as it's not
every other word in a post, or directed toward somebody. I'll go ahead
and remove "vulgar" from the ToS, as well as make sure the rest of the
ToS lines up with the Guidelines.

Thanks for the suggestions! I can provide the tools to build a
community, but the members are really the ones that do the
building. :)

The Largest Solresol Resource List
===================================

I'm pleased the announce the revamp of the Resources page (
http://sidosi.danielparson.com/resources )!

With this update comes the addition of numerous resources, adding up
to a total of 100(!) resources! In addition, the categories have been
split even further to accurately categorize each resource. Finally,
each resource's entry can now be linked to using the pound sign at the
end of each entry. If you haven't checked out the Resources page yet,
now's a good time to do so, since there are probably resources you
haven't seen before (I know there were a lot I hadn't)!
