High School State Tournament - Game Schedule Preview

Hello coaches and organizers,

The high school state tournament is right around the corner on June 4-5 at the National Sports Center in Blaine, MN.  More tournament details will follow in the coming days, but in the meantime I wanted to make sure everyone was aware of our game schedule this year.  As we explained at our pre-season meeting, a scheduling conflict at the NSC means that we need to vacate the fields by noon on Saturday.  On the bright side, we've been able to maximize field space such that we won't need to have field-sharing byes either.  This all boils down to the following schedule:

SATURDAY, JUNE 4

8:15 AM - Pool Play Round 1

10:00 AM - Pool Play Round 2

(Noon - Done for the day!)

SUNDAY, JUNE 5

9:30 AM - Pool Play Round 3

11:15 AM - Bracket Play Round 1

(1:00 PM - Lunch Break)

1:30 PM - Bracket Play Round 2

3:15 PM - Bracket Play Round 3

A few notes:

• All games will be to 13 instead of 15 to allow for 105 minute rounds and playing 4 games on Sunday.
• We have to start games early on Saturday to be out by noon and fit in two rounds, so we are starting games a bit later on Sunday to let everyone catch back up on sleep.  And despite playing 4 games on Sunday, without having a bye round we are still going to be done by 5:00 pm.
• No byes means we can't accommodate any requests for bye rounds this year.
• Girls division 2 and Open division 4 might have slightly altered schedules, depending on final numbers in each division.

PS: As previously announced, the Division I finals for both Girls and Open divisions will take place on Tuesday evening after the tournament at the Hamline University Stadium.  All-state will be announced there too.

Hello again,

The state tournament Division I finals on Tuesday, June 7 at Hamline University will be at 6:30 PM for the Girls' Division and 8:30 PM for the Open Division.  Stadium doors will open around 6pm.
