Currently MiniBatteryLogger can find and monitor shared batteries
published with Bonjour over the local network. The ability to connect
to remote (over the Internet) batteries is under development.
When ready and mature, the mbl-battd protocol will allow a MBL client
to connect to an arbitrary large number of remote servers by entering
their hostname / ip address.
I've recently submitted an application to obtain a user registered
port with the IANA, and the response was succesful: mbl-battd is
assigned to the ports 4153/tcp and 4153/udp (see <http://www.iana.org/
assignments/port-numbers>).
Best regards,
Claudio
