The most relevant feature introduced in 1.7.4 (build 74) is the
battery status view in the bottom of the left sidebar.

This "widget" (we could call it this way since it's modeled on the
companion Dashboard widget MiniBatteryStatus) offers a quick look at
the currently monitored battery's conditions.

At the moment it just shows the charge in percent, providing a colored
charge bar as well. The bar changes color from green to red as the
charge decreases.

Maybe in the future I'll let the user detach it and use it as an
independent panel (suggestions are welcome).

On the other hand, I'm planning to develop a related app to browse the
-- now huge, thanks to the confluence of battery data shared by users,
now even by the MBS widget -- shared battery data archive. It will be
designed for technicians and power users who'd like to elaborate all
kind of statistics on battery performance, and will be an alternative
way to browse the archive than the web interface, with the possibility
to download a local copy of data to avoid requiring an internet
connection.

It will probably use CoreData so Panther will not be supported (as I
will do in MBL 2.0); I don't have stats at hand but it seems that the
adoption rate of Tiger is high enough to justify this decision.

Have a nice weekend,
CP
