In Part 1 of my NAS Adventure I purchased a kobol Helios64
(https://kobol.io/). Kobol pulled the plug on their company August 25,
2023 (https://blog.kobol.io/2021/08/25/we-are-pulling-the-plug/). The
Armbian Helios64 project did not have a maintainer for a long time so it
sat on the shelf doing nothing.

UPDATE: Alban Browaeny is now listed as a maintainer and Armbian 24.8.1
is available with Standard Support. I may be able to breath life into my
Helios64.

In Part 2 of my NAS Adventure I stumbled into the LincPlus LincStation
N1 (https://www.lincplustech.com/collections/lincstation).

Basic Data
CPU: Intel® Celeron® N5105
OS: unRAID Server Starter
Memory: 16GB
Storage 1: 2 x 2.5inch SSD bays
Storage 2: 4 x NVMe SSD slots
WiFi: 6
Bluetooth: 5.2

The LincPlus LincStation N1 comes with UNRAID installed. According to
Wikipedia UNRAID is based on Slackware Linux
(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unraid#:~:text=Unraid%20is%20based%20on%20Slackware,be%20used%20on%20new%20implementations.).

In the Technically Unsure Youtube video titled "LincPlus LincStation N1
Review | 2x2.5 SSD + 4xNVME SSD NAS"
(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LV5d7DmPnw8) The AMI setup page is
displayed at 12:28. WOHO! That means I should be able to install other
operating systems on it.

I ordered the LincPlus LincStation N1 and it is scheduled to be
delivered Sunday, September 1, 2024. Since I will be away from home at
least part of the day it will be delivered to an Amazon Locker that is
available 24 hours a day.

Is anyone interested in a LincPlus LincStation N1 demo if I get it
running before the September MLUG meeting.

Having Fun,
Roger M. Jenson
