Plein Air Oil Painting - Rye Wilderness Creek

Here's a new piece that I just finished. This is an original oil
painting of Rye Wilderness Creek in Bradenton, FL. It was painted on
birch wood and the image measures approximately 12" x 11".

I started this painting on location in the rain, but oil paints don't
work to well with water. So, after about an hour or so I called it
quits. Luckily I took some photos before I started painting while the
sun was shining. This piece started out as a dark, rainy piece but
morphed into a nice sunny day at "Rye Wilderness Creek". Minus the
Gators!
