My name is Jerry Grossman, and I am a lawyer working as a Program
Specialist at the IRIS Center at the University of Maryland
(www.iris.umd.edu). I manage and direct the Microfinance Gateway's
Regulation and Supervision Resource Center (www.cgap.org/regulation),
a project funded by the Consultative Group to Assist the Poor (CGAP)
and implemented by IRIS.
We are looking for some consultants to assist us with updating certain
country profiles on the Resource Center, including the following:
Brazil
Colombia
Mexico
The current list of country profiles is available at
http://microfinancegateway.org/resource_centers/reg_sup/country_info.
The profiles are out of date for these three countries, and we would
be looking for a consultant who could: (i) provide detailed, updated
information; (ii) fill in missing information; and (iii) provide
citations (laws, regulations, secondary sources, etc.) for each entry.
An example of a well-written country profile is Ghana's, available at
http://microfinancegateway.org/resource_centers/reg_sup/micro_reg/country/17/.
IRIS is willing to pay up to USD 1,000 for a country update.
Consultants must be familiar with the laws and regulations in the
country in question. Consultants also must be able to read and write
in English fluently.
If you are interested in more information, please contact Jerry
Grossman at jgro...@iris.econ.umd.edu.
Thank you,
Jerry Grossman
