Club status anyone.

Can someone please provide me with an update regarding the clubs status. I have heard rumors that there has been no one at the meetings. The club's domain names are up for renewal ( mirobotclub.org and mirobotclub.com) and I am wondering if I should renew them.

Personally, I have been busy with other activities (Yoga, Mountain Biking, lifting, and grandkids). I have not touched my Robot stuff in a couple of years but this would no be the first time. My interests tend to cycle and I am sure that I will be back to building robots at some point.

Hello Jim,

If they aren't going to be renewed I would consider taking them on and can carve out some space on my website for club info.

If you are interested, I'm willing to transfer them to you provided that I don't hear back from Keith, Paul or anyone in the AA area that is interested. It's just the domains the website is hosted on Weebly. I can add you if you like. I have the old wiki content archived but it's not very interesting any longer.

Jim,

Paul and I discussed about this last month. He wants to step down and let someone else take over.

I can't do it myself because I am not that capable to do it. I would suggest to renew the domain and let

someone else take over when time comes. Paul and I think that the new person should choose to pick

a different night as the group see it fit.

Maker Works was wondering if the group is continuing hosting the club. They said a couple of people

have contact them about it and a few have showed up. Also we haven't been active that much in

the past few months that Maker Works is wondering to drop the group from their active list.

There are currently 2 domains (mirobotclub.com and mirobotclub.org). Do we want to keep both or just one? The .com domain is cheaper.

I don't think letting both domains to expire is a good idea. Please renew them for next person to take over.

I would be happy to pay for and renew the domains.  We shouldn't let them expire.  But I'm not competent to administer or maintain a website.  Somebody else could do that, or we could just "Park" the domains for when there is more energy in the club.
