Dear friends of Night Fire Films,

You are cordially invited to the Los Angeles premiere of the
documentary film “Breaking the Maya Code” on Sunday October 4 at 3PM.
This free screening will be held at Norris Theatre on the campus of
the University of Southern California. The screening will be in High
Definition, and will be followed by a Q&A with director David Lebrun
and others involved in the production.

The two-hour film traces the history of the decipherment of ancient
Maya hieroglyphic writing from the 16th century to the present. Shot
at over 40 locations in nine countries, “Breaking the Maya Code” was
completed in 2008 and over the past year has received five Best
Picture or Best Documentary jury or audience awards at international
film festivals. More information on the film is available at
http://www.nightfirefilms.org/breakingthemayacode/

To reach the Norris Theatre, enter the USC campus at Entrance 6, on
Vermont Avenue at 34th Street. A guard at the entrance will direct
you to parking and to the theatre. If you’re not familiar with the
campus, we suggest printing out the helpful map at http://web-app.usc.edu/maps/?id=31.
You can also google the theatre’s address, 3507 Trousdale Parkway, Los
Angeles 90089, but the USC map is more helpful.

Please pass this message along to Los Angeles area friends and
colleagues who you think would be interested in this event. Don’t
hesitate to contact us if you have any questions about the screening.
No reservations required; we hope to see you there.
