WILL YOU LOVE SOMEONE SPECIAL THIS HOLIDAY SEASON
?
A SPECIAL DAY TO LET THEM
KNOW
THEY WILL
NEVER AGAIN CLIMB THEIR MOUNTAIN ALONE
HOLIDAY CHEER AT THE JAMES GRAHAM BROWN
DECEMBER 20, 2011
D (we do
not use names without permission of the family) was in her
40's and engaged to be married when she was diagnosed with
cancer. Meghan was asked to visit her and become her friend,
which Meghan is very good at. I accompanied Meghan to University
Hospital. Meghan was so excited, she even stopped to buy a card and balloon. We
went to the floor and were told that D. had passed away just a few hours
before. That happens sometimes. And sometimes we are able to let them know they
do not climb alone, that they are loved and prayed for.
There are only 36 days left till
Meghan's Holiday Cheer Party at the Brown Cancer Center for approx. 250
people who will walk thru those doors hoping to live against cancer. The reality
is that for some this will be there last holiday. We ask you to help
us reach to them by buying one or more of the below listed gifts recommended by
the Brown. Just call me at 468-0630 or email me at jrst...@aol.com and we can make
arrangements to pick them up and give you a tax deduction statement if
requested.
Here
is what they need: (they must be new and are not to be gift
wrapped):
lip balm, hand sanitizer, nail care items, good hand
lotion
adult puzzle books and journals
ornaments and dreidels
scented candles
coffee mugs with coffee, tea or hot chocolate
packs
for men and women: gloves, socks and
scarves
gift cards in $5.00 increments from fast food chains or drug
stores
For the
young girl from Eastern Ky. who is in the hospital without family, for the man
who cannot afford his co-pay, and for the family struggling to make ends meet
with the high cost of medical care. For them, for all of them...bless them with your heart...with your
love...add them to your holiday list. Believe me when I say one gift alone is so
very special.
Meghan, even though she did not
have a major fundraiser this year, is still going to do, besides the above, a
Christmas dinner with gifts (for all the oncology patients), their families and
the staff at Kosair Children's Hospital, and wants to make monetary donations,
if possible, to each of the organizations she touched last year. Your help with
this event will allow her dreams to continue. Thank you.
God bless and BELIEVE,
Jerry
