something was simply unscannable, we didn't have a choice but to give
them access and then monitor their use.

We give Full Document to everyone so that they can document scheduled
meds as not given as well as entering meds given during a downtime. It
is also an option if they are unable to scan the Bar Code of a
medication. Scanning reports are ran monthly and if the nurse managers
see someone who is having low rates, they address it with the
individual.

We didn't give access to Full Document to any of our users prior to
using the new eMAR desktop. With the eMAR desktop, access to Full
Document is necessary for proper functioning.

Our Nursing policy states that in case of downtime, everything on paper
must be entered in the eMAR however long the system is down.

Looking for some BMV/eMAR advice regarding the use of the Full
Document feature and whether or not you give this to all users and do
they abuse it?

Second, do you require all documentation that you do on paper during
downtime, to be documented in the Emar, no matter how long the system
has been down.
