Good morning L-users, I have a question regarding Laboratory reports.  I have just become the clinical analyst for our hospital
lab, when out lab manager was asked to resign.  I am not completely familiar with our lab module and so have a hard time
dealing with all the issues that are coming my way.  I am very proficient when it comes to financials but this is not the same at
all.  We have a STAT broadcast that prints when a specimen gets resulted, which is great except it is missing some information
that prints on the Specimen Inquiry.  Then we have reports that are set to print on a schedule through a telecom site, now these reports are the things that nightmares are made of.  It seems that every patient that has ever been to our clinic, even if the
specimen report was ordered by an outside provider, prints in these batches.  We waste so much paper that Medical Records and the clinic manager have fits.  So my question is, does someone have a reports and telecom set up that prints one report when a speciment is resulted to the submitting doctor and that is it?  They want me to make the rest disappear but if I change anything
they complain they aren't getting all their reports and if I put it back the way it is they get to many, so where is the happy medium?

Thanks for any help on this issue or suggestions!

Derrick:  Thank you, I have been working with my Meditech Specialist and we changed things and it worked great for three months
then everything started printing as it did before we fixed our setup, nobody is taking credit for the change but only a few have access
to change things, but I always get the heat.  I have to admit I would rather work with financials than clinicals but slowly learning
with help from Meditech and L-users.

Derrick:  Thank you for the info.  I have been working with my Meditech LIS Specialist but everytime we fix something
someone else goes in and makes changes without letting us know, but nobody wants credit for that.  Anyway I would

Sorry sent it a little early

Sort matters a lot

Then how your telecom sites are set up..

It sounds like all your issues could be fixed, Talk with Meditech they will help you out.

I did send an example of out Outpatient result

The Sorting feature on Page 3 LIS Report Dictionary helps with the printing and sorting.

Example Put in OTHDOC  and only if they are marked as OTHDOC will they get the report

Put in DOC as below and any md on  the REQ will get a copy(Submitting, Family to Other)

Questions let me know
