Good afternoon  L Land We are a Magic 5.65 site

I am wondering what sort of pain assessment and reassessment other sites are using for infants in the Nursery and up to 2 months. It’s my understanding that FLACC is unacceptable for use for these babies.

If you have screen shots you would be willing to share it would be helpful.

What sore of Policies/Procedures do you have in place for these babies? Do you do something different for procedural (circumcision)  vs shift to  shift assessment of pain.

Anything you are willingto share would be helpfulJ

Thanks, Ann

Ann-

We use the NIPS (Neonatal Infant Pain Scale) Scoring Tool.  I will email you a screen shot.

Thanks,

Ann,

We use this scale for our newborns. It is on the shift assessment and on the eMAR when giving sucrose/Tylenol and comes up for reassessment
