[MT-L] Scheduled report produces No records found. Spooling manually gives many records Magic 5.62.

I have an extremely convoluted report to pull billing information for a
Radiology reading/billing company.

I pull from ABS.PAT to be sure abstract is final. I frag to ITS.ORD to
get all procedures done on that patient.

When I put the report on the scheduler spooled to an FTP type spool
group, it is giving me No records found. When I run the report by hand
and put it to a regular spool file I get lots of records.

The FTP spool group is actively working correctly on several other
reports every day.

Any theories?

Not only how long but how big is this file? When you FTP, it creates a temp file. You need approximately twice the space as the file size. Check your master segment or segment that houses MIS for available space.

Not sure I can remember accurately. Seems like it was a little quicker
on the scheduler. Manually, it's almost 10 minutes indexed on date of
finalization of the abstract.

Well, what I was thinking is that it may take too long to compile on a schedule, so you're getting the 'no records found' because it doesn't have time to complete.

I was under the impression that spooling the report eliminated that
"time out" problem. Would it make a difference that it was an FTP type
spool group?

I don't know. I'm digging deep into my memory banks on this one.

I just spooled it to the FTP type group. It brought up lots of data.
About 8 minutes to run.

We have huge report that runs for our data warehouse daily. It takes 12-15 hours to run and then FTP's about 2,000 pages of data.

The only time it has ever had a problem is it will get stuck in "creating" status if all of our spool slots are taken up (at any given time).

My guess is the type wouldn't affect this.
