Wanted to know if anyone has created the following reports for PCS:
1. Medication Reconciliation report (includes meds and nursing orders)
2. Home Medication List/Report (list of meds that the patient will take home after hospitalization and be able to print out for patient to sign)
3. Valuables Report (patient belongings checklist that can be printed out and signed by the patient)
I would appreciate every bit of advice, recommendations, or maybe ever share an existing NPR report.
Thank you,
Cathy

Good morning,
I am trying to default in the bed request time onto a CDS. I am using a
view type query called "EDREQTIME". The DPM is ADM.PAT and the display
field is bed.request.time. The problem is that once the patient is
admitted, this field blanks out. How can I fix this?

2. Do you use a report?
3. What is the audit process?

When we first got Meditech (1999) we scrapped the Meditech Labor and

there anyone who is using flowsheets successfully in this area? Do you like

We are running 2 HL7 Xfaces over a VPN to LabCorp for reference lab orders

firewall appliances last year and it did not fail. I would check to make

Good morning, Meditech-L
I would love to hear back from any sites that have an HL7 interface that
is running through a VPN Tunnel to another vendor application. Possibly
an application that is ASP based, the server does not sit on your
network. We have had numerous problems with two VPN tunnels that we are
sending HL7 messages through. The interfaces are always hung. I have
worked with the other vendors and our IT staff and we seem to get
nowhere with improving the downtime of the interfaces. I read a
document several months ago that stated HL7 through a VPN tunnel is
asking for trouble. Anyone on the Meditech-L having any issues, or
fixed the issues. Any feed back would be welcomed.

Has anyone written an NPR report in ITS for C/S that shows the detail
for a Turn around time report?
Our director does not want to just see the average, he wants to be able
to tell the % of the time that the established TAT was met....

1. Who is responsible for the electric chart auditing process? Nurse
Managers
2. Do you use a report? No, the managers use a couple of different
template forms that are submitted to their Dept. Director or the
Director of Outcomes Management, and they can also be used to provide
feedback to the nurses who did the documenting.
3. What is the audit process? Managers typically are responsible for a
minimum of 10 open chart reviews per unit per month. These reviews are
geared towards monitoring Joint Commission standards and are submitted
to the Director of Outcomes Management.
There are also audits done on individual nurses, which are geared more
towards monitoring things such as completion of required
assessments/interventions, properly personalizing a patient's care plan,
and medication administration including scanning percentages. These are
returned to the individual nurse to provide feedback and can also be
used for performance reviews.

Thank you to everyone who did answer my Last question
Hi, is there any way I can print the Meditech comment for Z program
I have made a report that list all the Z program in NPR.PROC
But Meditech Enter Argument documentation in the Comment in the code itself and not in the Argument field ?!? kinda weird....
We can see it in the Macro Using Get key
I don't know if you will understand what I mean but I hope so...
What I wanted to do is printed a list that include all Z program and there argument
URN DPM ARGUMENT
======================== ========== ==========================================================
Z.age Z
Nothing print in the Argument section
I Wish I could print the comment that Meditech left or find the argument
Can I do that??
If yes how?
If no, is there another way I can do that?
I would really appreciate to have a list because we have like 600+++ Z program and finding the right one is kind of long when you look at them one by one in the macro

We have a report that calls a fragment to pull the patient home meds
from an intervention. The problem we have is that on PRE SDC patients,
nothing is being pulled. The report DPM is NUR.PC.WORK and the detail
segment is nur.pc.work.file. There is no index. We are successfully
pulling data on PRE IN, ADM IN, REG SDC, so we know the report works.
Any ideas why this might be the case?
We have asked Meditech, but they have a 32 day backlog - I could be hit
by a truck before this is resolved, or win the lotto!

In our MAGIC system, the argument field to which you're referring
(NPR.PROC.procedure.arguments) is answered, if at all, with a "Y" or an
"N" 99% of the time. I don't think there's an easy, automated way to list
the programmer comments from the source code. When there are no comments,
you need to look through the program itself to figure out what the
arguments are. Usually, but not always, values of the A,B,C, etc.
variables (read Argument #1, Argument #2, Argument #3 respectively) are
reassigned early on in the program.
e.g. A^@procedure
I know you're looking for an easy way to figure out all the arguments. I
really don't think there is one.

I have been searching the archives and my own files for an attribute
that can default the diagnosis that is in the administrative data screen
into a Nursing assessment query. I really don't want to share a query
in this assessment, just populate it from OEDIAG1.
So far the examples I've tried haven't worked. Does anyone have an
attribute that does this? I would be forever greatful for any response.

Can anyone share their experiences in the use of NPR to create reports

We found that the WEB for LSS or MEDITECH for the NPR Share Reports list

Hi, Mark,
I'm not sure of the reasoning behind having an alpha character in the account numbers and MR numbers, but some hospitals choose F (financial) for account and M (medical) for MR. Others have chosen J or H. I think it's basically a matter of personal preference.
Frankly, having used all these letters and more at different facilities, I can tell you that keying in account numbers using an alpha character is a pain and an adjustment, expecially coming from another system.

Can you have a new route called "variable"? and assign iv or po to the eMAR choices for that "route", explaining the choice in the label comments? The nurse would then be required to enter a route. Might not be pretty but it should work. (The story of Meditech). In any case, all the info should show in the record.

We are ~1/2 Live with the new eMAR desktop, and I need to ask how other
pharmacies are handling a situation. We have a patient with a med
ordered as IV or PO on a scheduled basis. If we enter both meds, the iv
and po form, as q6 scheduled the nurse is prompted to give both meds
every six hours. S/he has to document one of the routes as not given.
We actually had a med error as a result of this very thing. The patient
was ordered a med either PO or IV every six hours. Both meds were
entered as Q6 scheduled. The nurse gave the iv and the oral dose form -
twice.
So how are other facilities entering orders in this situation?
