Has anyone else noticed this?

We have not yet implemented Problems List (we are CS 5.66).  When we started playing around with it the other day, we noticed that there are several inconsistencies within how IMO has categorized problems between Active-Medical and Active-Social.  For example, Legionella Pneumonia is mapped to Social (!?!) but other diseases that can be acquired through “social” means (such as many STDs) are categorized to Medical.  Also, we’ve noticed a difference in Alcoholism and Alcohol Abuse (one is social, one is medical), Divorce is medical, and “No family member at home to care for patient” is medical.

When we’ve asked IMO about this, their response was that we would need to define a person or a team of people, set them up with access  to IMO and have them make the changes.  This seems wrong to me – they are supposed to be the experts in data mappings.  I am presuming this categorization will affect how the data is displayed on the CCD and the patient health summary?

Would love to hear from other facilities that have encountered this and how you are addressing it?
