I am asking again to see if there are new solutions available...

For those of you who have moved to an electronic medical record and
eliminated your paper charts, how are you producing medical records when
they are requested?

Are you able to output to CD?

Have you been able to do this from within Meditech? Have you had to
purchase a standalone system?

If you are producing this from within Meditech?

How are you managing purging from the modules?

Are you doing screen-prints from the EMR?

This is a very laborious process and potential for omission is great.
Any ideas or solutions will be appreciated.

When we get requests to produce medical records we print out the paper.
We would like to move to CD's but are told there are some security
issues to be worked out before we can do that. I would be curious to
hear from any other MEDITECH sites who are outputting records to a CD.

We do not do screen prints from the EMR. When we reproduce records in
HIS, we reproduce from the ELR (Legal Record) as it is recommended
practice to reproduce in a standard consistent format.

We have attempted to save data on a CD and are receiving numerous
errors. Meditech is presently finding the same issues in their in-house
ring and are working on creating DTS's...

Not sure if this is the same issue you are having, but we are 5.54 PP20
and received MRM 1044 and MIS 9067 to resolve an issue where we were
unable to burn to a CD in a 3 tier session.

I know right now there are concerns as well with reproducing the record
to a CD because there aren't security measures in place (for example,
the CD's aren't encrypted) so there's no way to protect this data once
it's on CD.

Why do we hold a CD to higher standards then paper copies of PHI? I
never understand that.

We actually are on the same version and were given MRM1044 and MIS 9067.
It didn't work. Meditech patched in-house MRM 1109 and this is still not
working .
