HI Brent - We have partnered with Acmeware for eCQM reporting. I have to say that they have been great to work with. Their team is knowledgeable and their reporting tools are very helpful. One of the reasons we selected them was that they were the first Meditech vendor to electronically submit PQRS measures which of course is similar to eCQM submission. We started planning for eCQM in January - they have since provided us with a project plan and additional nomenclature mapping resources to update our Meditech mapping to the required eCQM specifications. Another reason we prefer their tool over others is that when validating our data, we have detailed information about the specific measure components that were met or not met.
I hope this helps,
Jodi

Hi Patti, we're now using the TAR on 6.14. I'm really looking forward to seeing how other sites have implemented it too, and I know we have at least 3 presentations on the agenda at the upcoming International MUSE conference in Orlando that you might be interested in:
Traversing the Terrain to TAR Implementation East Tennessee Children's Hospital (ETCH) is a 152-bed regional pediatric hospital. We have been 6.0 adopters since August, 2011. As we have continued to refine our current documentation and processes and continue to implement best practices, a determination was made to implement TAR (Transfusion Administration Record). Traversing the terrain to TAR at first appeared that we would walk a smooth level road to implementation, but as we began working through process flow involving nursing, blood bank, OM and IS we noted significant areas of improvement related to safety. The intent of the presentation is to provide insight in to obstacles that may be encountered prior, during and after the implementation of TAR. Although this project ultimately impacts the documentation of the nurse, it has had a direct impact to necessary changes in our BBK processes OM processes and Nursing processes.
Presenter: Vicki Marchman Collins, East Tennessee Children's Hospital, Knoxville, Tennessee
Can TAR Work for You? From Set up to Roll Out The TAR process is a satisfier for many end users, but at times creates a sense of dread in the mapping and building for use; not to mention the Electronic Laboratory Reporting. We will look at lessons learned, and those still to learn in this process.
Presenter: Kathleen Hawkins, Stillwater Medical Center, Stillwater, Oklahoma
First Blood Part II - Transfusion Admission Record (TAR) Please join us for Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital*s journey to implement TAR. This session will review the barriers to previous implementations and how Henry Mayo was able to overcome these challenges for a successful Go-Live. This presentation will include the following:
? Functionality of TAR
? TAR Dictionary Settings
? Staff Training
? Go-Live Support
? Support Materials
? Post Live Auditing
? Lessons Learned
Presenters: Kelly Redd and Paul Jriyasetapong, Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital, Valencia, California
Hope to see you there!

Can you put "Signed" before "Surgical Consent"? Is this completed before the pt goes into surgery?
Is there a separate Time Out completed?

Hi,
Attached you will find a draft version of the pre-operative checklist. I took the current one on paper and tried to fit everything and bring it up to date. Please let me know what you think. Either email me or let me know your thoughts at the next Nurse Leadership meeting.

Are there any sites that are removing the surgical and recovery time from the total hours of OBS charges? If so, how are you accomplishing this? Is it a manual process?
Example:
8:00am Patient is admitted as an OBS patient
11:00am Patient surgery begins
3:00pm Patient returns to room following surgery and recovery
9:00pm Patient is discharged
This patient should have 9 hours of OBS charges instead of 13 hours.
Thank you in advance for any guidance or suggestions that you are able to offer!

Good morning, fellow L'ers:
This question recently came up at a client I am working at: what are other organizations doing in either ED Triage and/or in the Nursing Admission Assessment to screen for for suicidal / homicidal ideation in patients presenting to the ED and/or being admitted as inpatients.
If folks would be comfortable sharing a screenshot of what they do in ED Triage and on their Nursing Admission Assessment, I would greatly appreciate it. I am looking to resolve this gap at my current client and am looking for some suggestions.
Thanks much -
Greg Des Rosiers

I see. We are not Joint Commission. Medisolv and IHM are companies Meditech partners with.

We do not currently ask this on triage but on our Primary nurse assessment in the ED then we have a suicide risk screening query on inpatient admission as well. The first screenshot is the question in our ED. The second screenshot is of the question on our inpatient admission, outpatient admission, and maternity admission screens.

Subject: [MT-L] Suicide / Homicide Risk Screening
Good morning, fellow L'ers:
This question recently came up at a client I am working at: what are other organizations doing in either ED Triage and/or in the Nursing Admission Assessment to screen for for suicidal / homicidal ideation in patients presenting to the ED and/or being admitted as inpatients.
If folks would be comfortable sharing a screenshot of what they do in ED Triage and on their Nursing Admission Assessment, I would greatly appreciate it. I am looking to resolve this gap at my current client and am looking for some suggestions.
Thanks much -
Greg Des Rosiers

Our staff view the SCA documents in the EMR. They have been trained to view them under All Visits. This ensures changes are up-to-date which can be a downside to queries - documents and wishes change over time but the hospital may not always be informed.

Has anyone come up with an idea to display at a glance if the patient has a living will on file at the hospital? It's a query.

I know it's early, but has anyone out there made the choice of using Medical Skype? Is it HIPAA compliant? Are you using something else for telemedicine? What about CloudVisit? Anyone using it? suggestions?

Hello L,
We are working on an ED Throughput Project and it's been suggested that we implement pre-registration kiosks. Is anyone successfully using a Pre-Registration Kiosk system in your Emergency Department that interfaces with Meditech's ADM application to positively identify a patient and populate the registration fields?
Thanks,

Subject: [MT-L] 6.1 PHA Order String build
Message-ID:

Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"
We are in the dictionary building phase of a 6.1 upgrade from 5.66. We currently use COPE for most pharmacy orders and have large volume IV's set up in order strings. 6.1 seems to work a little differently. Any opinions on where to build the order strings for large volume solutions ( NS 1000,, ) ? We can build order strings in the PHA drug dictionary or in the Order String dictionary. My staff seems to be concerned that building them in the Order string Dictionary will require the end user (nurse) to document specific administration times and that these will tend to be off due to the nature of IV solution infusions. The nurse will be unnecessarily busy changing next bag due times and will become frustrated with their documentation process. Building them in PHA drug seems to avoid this issue. Any one addressed this issue?

Subject: [MT-L] ORM Pref Card Billing
Message-ID: <

Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"
Hello All,
We are a 6.07 pp12 site.
We are reviewing our Surgery billing and wanted to see what work flow you all have. Currently we bill by the Operative Charge rule(based on time) Then we have yellow barcoded stickers that are used on each Item that is used in surgery. We enter all the surgery Items under the Items tab or Misc charge tab as needed by hand.
Has anyone been able to or looked into importing the Pref Card Pick Sheet Items directly into the Items Tab in ORM and then adjust the Items used as needed? (we are trying to eliminate the manual process of scanning in all the items by hand).
Not sure if this function even exists in 6.07 . Any function like this in 6.15?
Thanks!
Mark
