You should be able to build a Program or Letter Text and attach it to an
Appointment Group in Scheduling (SCH > Dictionary Menu > Letter
Dictionaries). Under OA Messages you can send a notification to an
individual user or to a printer by prefixing the printer mnemonic with
an asterisk.

We are scheduling patients and documenting through ORM. We have
recently opened a Cath Lab and because it is new there are not patients
every day. Our Cath Lab Manager wants a way for the system to
automatically notify them when the scheduler adds/changes or cancels a
cath lab appointment - Does anyone do this in their organizations and if
so, what is the workflow? Did you have to purchase a third party
product to accomplish this?

Basically you build a letter text (which is set up like an OA message)
that you attach to a patient type (inpatient, outpatient, etc.) that is
attached to a patient scheduling event (BOOK, CANCEL, EDIT, etc) that is
attached to an appointment type which is attached to an appointment
group in the Letters/Forms/OA Messages Table. When an event occurs that
matches the patient type, event, appointment type and group, then the OA
message (letter text) prints to the printer (or sends a MOX e-mail to
the user) defined in the Letters/Forms/OA Messages Table. Of course
there are other options that define if and when it prints. Hope this
