Subject: Magic EPS (Clinical Review) Display of Obstetrical Data

Seeking info from Magic Hospitals with Maternity Services who are documenting Labor data in NUR and are using advanced Clinicals (Cljnical Review/EPS) for physicians.

We have been unable to map labor queries (fetal heart rate, contraction frequency, dilitation, etc.) for display in Clinical Review for our obstetricians to review. The obstetricians want to review this data in a flowsheet format , so they can see related data elements as they change over time. The EPS special panel formats we use for Critical Care would be the ideal format, but there is no special panel for Obstetrics or Labor.

How do you display maternal/fetal labor data electronically for review by your physicians/midwives?

Thanks.

I'm not glad that you're having this issue but I'm glad to hear that we are not the only ones! We noticed this immediately when we were building and mapping EMR IDs. It seems like Meditech just forgot about the Maternity specialty in general. We put in requests for specific EMR IDs back in October of last year and it has been nothing but a battle with Meditech. What is really frustrating is that the IDs exist for C/S but not for Magic. Maybe if more sites generate requests for EMR IDs of this nature in Magic, Meditech will give them to us. Otherwise the Providers have to look under the Assessments panel.

Wish I could have given you better news!

Great Question!

MEDITECH has a DDP which will allow clients to set up their own Special
Panels.
DDP 13922 due out in 5.65

In the meantime I'd love to hear if others out there have a "Creative"
solution :)

Thank You Leslie for posting this.

Regards,
Julie...
