[MEDITECH-L] Magic-fax solutions

I have to come with the approximate cost to install a fax box or whatever
is out there for fax solutions. Basically, we need it for fiscal and medical
records to fax from Meditech, by simply typing fax at the print on prompt.
If anyone has done this in the last few years, can I contact you? I want to
come up with a project plan and approximate cost for the project.

I will tell you that I have an Interbit Data Fax Server that works very well. We have been using it for about 2 1/2 years and have had very few issues with it. I would caution you on one issue regarding future planning. The Interbit system only faxes from MEDITECH, or at least ours does, and if you are interested in a fax server that can work with systems outside of MEDITECH, I would suggest the Forward Advantage, which I installed about four years ago at another facility with CS.
I wish that the group decision for the Interbit had gone the way of Forward Advantage as we could now use the expanded functionality from the FA fax server.

You can buy the Desktop fax option from interbitdata to fax from any windows application. Also with ISDN line, you can receive faxes and direct them to specific users.

Hi Ross,
You are correct, that what you purchased back in April 2004 only allows you to fax out of MEDITECH. That is because you purchased our NetFax EM series which includes the appliance so you did not need to buy a separate server. I must also tell you that Interbit Data does have a faxing solution for non-Meditech applications.
Interbit Data has a full line of products that will allow you to fax from any windows application as well as the Meditech system. Our Desk top fax option can both send and receive faxes and route them to a department or folder for distribution.
