Does anyone know of a way to have the Meditech system automatically
calculate the number of recurring visits from month-to-month?
We Autodischarge our Recurring accounts & have been told that there isn't a
way to do this because we Autodischarge RCR accounts.

Thank You,

We have the below setup on all therapy, OP Surg, OBSV, etc... Any types of
claims that would have therapy service charged out. You can do the setup for
recurring and non-recurring claims.

Meditech has a guide for setting this up. Check out their website under:

Products & Resource Homepages

Tips & Tricks for both C/S & magic
Setting up Therapy Claims

We've been using this for 8 or 9 years and works great. This sure beats the
manual process. We have RCR accounts auto discharge. There is some
coordinating that needs to be done with the different depts.:

ADM : ADM stated that the once the auto discharge is done the accounts auto
Pre-Reg. Then the PT dept has to pull the account thru (don't totally
understand that piece). The ADM dept also has a report that is ran to
double check to make sure the new accounts are pull in. Usually the Card
Rehab accounts get missed so they do those.

Therapy Dept - Dept sends over a discharge info sheet with the occ code
dates for coding to enter in. This form was setup over 8 years ago and
hasn't been updated but it still works. The form has the OCC Code with the
description. Then PT enters in the date for each Occ code.

Coding: Adding Diag & Occ Codes: Our coding dept has to add the Occ
Codes in each month along with the Diag.

Billing: This is the best part. With the dictionary setup, the billers
don't even touch the claim it just goes out the door. If coding missed
putting in an Occ codes the claim check will catch that. Then the biller
has to touch the claim. I've attached the Claim checks we use & what the
billers would need to do.

. If you have further questions let me know. Hope this helps.

In Illinois for our Medicaid, we are asked to give a running total of visits. Are you just totaling the monthly visits and not the running total of all visits? We have to manually keep track of the prior month total and add the current month to get the running total. I don't see a way to discharge the accounts monthly (to keep the accounts from going on forever) and still get the running total. Any ideas?

Is this something you could pull a compiled report from ABS to get the running total?

We are required to report it on the claim in the value code area. We would use 50 for Physical Therapy and then the running total of visits.
Thanks.
