We upgraded our Meditech Print servers to Server 2008 on Thursday 01/21/16.

We now have ******TROY SECURE PRINT ENTERPRISE - INVALID LICENSE ****** PRINTING IN BOLD on all of our prescriptions.
Troy has sent us new sets of Licences on two occasions. We stop the Troy Services, Copy and rename the new Licenses, Restart the Troy Services and nothing changes. So here I sit on a Saturday morning hoping someone on the L has an answer.

Prior to moving Live, we tested the new servers and the Troy Prescription printing worked fine in the TEST environment.
We were told we would just have to copy the original Licenses from the Live Servers when we went LIVE as the New servers would be renamed the same as LIVE when we moved LIVE.

Well of course things always work smoothly. (Actually this same scenario worked perfectly the last time we upgraded the print servers. That time we did not even test them, we just loaded the Troy software on the new servers after we brought them up LIVE, copied the Troy Printer files and the License and everything worked fine.) When we first brought up the new servers we found the print drivers we had been using that worked fine in TESTING did not work at all in LIVE.

When we changed drivers we found we are getting this message on all prescriptions.

Troy does not have support on weekends so even if they can find a fix, it won't be until Monday.

Does anyone out there use another company for secure RX printing? What are your experiences?

We have been using the TROY solution since out Magic days without a problem.... but a 4 day (hopefully) turn around is really not acceptable in the healthcare industry.

Thanks,

Howard

Hi Howard;

I'm afraid this won't help you today, but I know some folks have used prescription paper with Zebra printers at other sites so then it's just a NPR report.

Thanks Charles,

I appreciate any input. We are trying to avoid using special trays, paper etc. The Troy printing is really an inexpensive practical solution.... except when it doesn't work.

Just hoping for better support,,, we really haven't needed much since 2012.

Good to hear from you.

Howard

We looked at Troy printing as a solution for ERx to avoid having to use special paper.  During the testing, one of our Tech team members took a printed prescription and was able to make copies on the copier that captured the watermarks so well that it fooled a pharmacist.  We quickly abandoned that idea.

Thank you,

Charli B.

Not having any affiliation to Troy, but being printer of secure Rx Documents, every copy protection feature used in Rx Pads or Paper has a similar disclaimer.

·         If a "Hidden Message or Void" fails to appear, it does not mean a document is counterfeit. It means the recipient should check for additional features. It is recommend that a "Warning Band" or "Warning Box" be printed on a secure document (prescription). This is the best way to list the various features contained in the document Securing a document is not an absolute science. However through the use on "layer-on-layer" security features, it is difficult, if not impossible, to accurately duplicate a document (prescription).

·         Using Void Pantographs as a sole security feature cannot be guaranteed to totally alleviate fraudulent actions against your document. Print densities of copiers can be varied to override the “VOID” feature. Layering your document with other security features is highly recommended.

·         Disclaimers - hidden void features can be circumvented by some high-end copiers - Industry standard is not to guarantee that void pantos will work on all copiers.

The key is to have multiple layers of security so if one is defeated the others are still present. We use MORE than THREE printed features on our Rx solution and start with plain paper using a thermal printer.
