Subject: DR Database Maintenance

Dear Jennifer:

I read of your problems with regards to Data Repository maintenance.  It can be frustrating when the initial loads halt due to fragmentation issues.  Perhaps my article would be of some interest:

DR Validate specializes in maintenance of Data Repository databases.  We recognize that hospital staff are often called upon to wear many hats, and may not have to the necessary time to devote all energy towards maintaining a Data Repository database.  Jennifer, I was one of the early developers of the Data Repository application itself at MEDITECH, and have been supporting and maintaining DR databases since 1996.

Might I suggest that you enlist our help for 4 months at a total cost of six thousand dollars?

During this time, DR Validate could give your system a "tune up".  Activities we would perform would include:

  • De-fragmenting DR tables at the SQL level.
  • Pointing Meditech to DR DTS fixes, rather than waiting until the next release.
  • Testing DR corrections as they are moved to the Test system.
  • Managing Data Repository tasks.
  • Reporting DR errors and working with Meditech to move corrections in or give ongoing examples.
  • Monitoring initial loads and transfers on a daily basis and reporting problems to Meditech.
  • Auditing DR reporting tables and reporting missing data to Meditech.

We are also available for longer, ongoing maintenance agreements at a discounted rate.

Jennifer, thanks for your time.  I wish you the best of success with your data repository system!

Sincerely,

Edward Chisam
